Our Actions Matter
Wednesday, December 10, 2025
10:00AM - 4:00PM Eastern
It can be hard to know if our actions really make a difference in the greater world, but you never know what one interaction could mean to someone else.
This year, Intentional Leadership features four thoughtful speakers, all grounded in our current reality and offering an optimistic lens on how our individual actions can shape the future. When things feel out of control, we can still be intentional about the words we choose, the environments we create, and the ways we care for others.
Spend the day immersed in keynote presentations, small-group discussions, and personal reflections–all designed to help you take action on the ideas and frameworks you’ll learn throughout the event.
Bonus! Every attendee will receive a box of Zingerman's treats via post in the days leading up to the event. (We can only ship within the U.S., but we’ve got a special something for our international friends, too!)
What you'll learn

Community and Civility
What would it look like if everyone around you was thriving? Dr. Christine Porath has spent years studying just that: the importance of thriving to our well-being and the success of organizations and communities.
In this engaging and evidence-based kick-off, Dr. Porath will help us see how our everyday actions shape the communities we’re part of, and share actionable strategies to build stronger, more civil communities. When we treat each other with care and respect, we don’t just feel better—we perform better, collaborate more easily, and get more positive outcomes. You’ll also learn how cultivating self-awareness and practicing compassionate candor create the kind of culture where everyone does their best work.

Fun is a Strategy
What if work didn't have to feel like work?
Over the years, and several career changes, Steve Carse has learned that when you start with fun–real, human, laugh-a-little fun– everything else gets better. People connect, ideas flow, and the work starts to matter again.
His focus on how it feels to be at work flips the script of traditional business priorities. Instead of obsessing about productivity, he leads with joy, builds trust in his team, and has come to realize that the best results usually happen when we stop trying so hard to chase them.
Steve will share seven simple, but game-changing, business principles that make work more fun while also boosting the health of his entire business! He’ll challenge you to rethink how you approach work by sharing how these principles play out and can be translated to any organization.

Love and Care in All Our Actions
Hear us out. At Zingerman’s, customer service isn’t a transaction—it’s a love story. Every exchange is an opportunity to offer care, build connection, and model what kind of world we want to live in.
In this thought-provoking interview, Ari Weinzweig and Arianna Téllez León will explore how love—as a verb—is the real root of great customer service. It’s not about perfection; it’s about presence. You’ll hear how to support your staff in giving service filled with thoughtfulness and care, and why practicing loving awareness makes work and life better for everyone involved.
Ari will unpack the frameworks that help our employees follow clear service expectations that also support employees to be present and respond to each interaction uniquely. When people are trusted to think, they feel valued, their work improves, and the customer’s experience gets richer and more real.
This conversation invites you to see customer service not as a transaction, but as a way to contribute love to the world, one conversation at a time.
